The original Wine Room,
pouring on Park Avenue since 2006

The Wine Room opened its doors on Park Avenue in downtown Winter Park on February 6, 2006, founded by Bruce Simberg and Misti Greene as the brand’s very first location. It introduced Central Florida’s first self-pour wine experience, broke down the intimidation of the traditional wine list, and has since earned Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence for 13 consecutive years alongside repeated “Best Wine Bar” honors from Orlando Weekly. In 2026 the location marked its 20th anniversary, having welcomed an estimated one million guests along the way.

At the center of the room sits a wall of 156 hand-selected wines from around the world, poured in three sizes so guests can taste, compare, and commit at their own pace, alongside a reserve “Rare Room” station dedicated to trophy bottles from producers such as Shafer, Caymus, Sassicaia, and Don Melchor. A retail wine and cheese shop, a flatbread-driven kitchen, and a hand-picked charcuterie program round out the space, and downstairs guests can slip into The Vault, a tasting room built inside a decommissioned bank vault.

Technical Features

enomatic-unica8rThe Wine Room’s wall of 156 Enomatic stations has been pouring guests’ self-serve tastings on Park Avenue since 2006, the original proving ground for the self-pour concept the brand later carried to its other Florida locations.

Pour + preserve – each bottle is individually preserved under food-grade nitrogen or argon, with up to 3 configurable pour sizes per bottle.

Chill + display – adjustable temperature zones keep every open bottle at the right serving temperature, with full visibility for guests browsing the line-up.

Control + connect – a color touchscreen and card/RFID reader let guests tap in and pour their own tastes, no server required.

Build + customize – stainless steel, colored or glazed finishes, with customization options available on request.

With three pour sizes on every station – from a taste to a full glass – the wine list becomes something guests explore at their own pace, exactly as it did when the format debuted here two decades ago.
